Kaira Konko Lodge welcomes all visitors, Scouts and non-Scouts alike. The Lodge was created to support the ongoing development of Kaira Konko Scout Centre, its Scouts and its work in the community of Soma and the wider Lower River Region. We can accommodate lone travellers through to groups of up to 30 people.
The Lodge is situated in a peaceful setting with a main courtyard, lush shady garden to the rear and large kitchen garden. There is an outdoor covered bantaba, which is a social area used for dining, entertainment and activities. Positioned with easy access to the main road, we are approximately 800m west of Soma town centre.
In the kitchen our team, headed by Fatou, can serve up a variety of dishes from western staples to delicious traditional Gambian cuisine, all created from locally sourced ingredients.
A full schedule of activities and/or community engagement can be arranged in the local area. Trips further afield can be organised with prior notice, such as bird watching tours or a day trip to Georgetown, a historic colonial outpost where boat trips on the River Gambia are available.
